Blessings beyond any number

[To Abraham]: “I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous . . . as the sand on the seashore. . . . Through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me. (Genesis 22:17-18 [parts at least] )

I feel as if I should put up a note saying “Gone to the Beach” because that is where my daughter and I will be all day today. But I want to leave you with a visual thought seeker, and a task of sorts. Count the grains of sand on the beach in this picture. I should be back home before you get done.

And as you are counting, consider that each of the grains of sand represents one of Abraham spiritual descendents. And that this is only a small section of a beach along the Oregon coast. And that there are miles and miles of such beaches in Oregon. And that Oregon is only one state that has beaches. And that there are also beaches in other countries. And, finally, sand can be very deep on any beach.

Now think of each person represented by a grain of sand being blessed by God. What a bless-filled God! May you seeker having blessings as numerous as the sand on the seashore. Selah!
