SACRIFICE . . . . Preacher and Seeker, and Psalms 50

Seeker: “Sacrifice thank offerings to God . . .”

Preacher: Thank you Lord for all the grace and blessings you have given us.

Seeker: “. . . fulfill your vows to the Most High . . . “

Preacher: I would pray Lord that you would hold us faithful and accountable to your precepts.

Seeker: “. . . and call upon me in the day of trouble . . . “

Preacher: And we have difficulties following your way Lord, teach us and guide us.

Seeker: “. . . I will deliver you . . . ”

Preacher: We rely on your assurances that you will be there with us and for us.

Seeker: “. . . and you will honor me. ”

Preacher: And we praise you for your faithfulness.

Seeker: “But to the wicked God says . . . “

Preacher: The wicked receive your judgment, O Lord, for they have not obeyed your precepts or honored their covenant with you. They have kept company with evildoers and have done evil themselves. They thought you would not hold them accountable, but they were wrong.

Seeker: “But now I rebuke you, and lay the charge before you.”

Preacher: We may comfort ourselves, Lord, that we are not evildoers. But I fear we may be deluding ourselves and trying to hid the fact from you. Expose our folly and correct us God.

Seeker: Amen!
